Notebook Excerpt
I wrote this piece thinking of my garden through childhood. Full of flowers, bright beautiful hedges and a big apple tree. I wanted the music to feel gentle and personal, like a memory slowly unfolding. I love the way the piano can bloom with colour, feel full and layered like a garden, and hold both softness and strength. I was drawn to how rich the sound is in every register, how the melody can sound different with just a slight change underneath, and the way melodies can grow and intertwine.
