Stories From My Musical World
A story about translating visual atmosphere into sound, shaped by Edvard Munch's The Sick Child and the way memory returns in repeated images.
Listen to the pieceThe beginning
The first idea was visual before it was musical: a single image, a still figure and a feeling that would not quite leave.
The memory
The Painting is about the strange way an image can stay with you after you stop looking at it.
Instead of describing the painting literally, the music follows the emotional trace it leaves behind: stillness, repetition, colour, memory and the small changes that appear each time you return to it.
The piece became a way of listening to an image, as if the picture had a quiet sound of its own.
Creating the music
Photographs, notes and little fragments can be gathered here as the story grows.

A quiet reflection
Every piece keeps a little of the place, image or feeling that began it. This page is a quiet place for those fragments to stay close to the music.
