A musical foundation

From learning by ear to formal study, each stage has changed the way I hear, play and compose.

  1. Age 2

    Started playing by ear

    I started picking out melodies and cartoon theme songs by ear when I was two.

  2. Age 3

    Formal piano lessons

    I was three when this was filmed, playing Gavotta from the Grade 1 book. I had recently started formal piano lessons.

  3. Age 7

    ABRSM Jazz Piano Grade 5

    ABRSM Distinction

    At seven, I earned a distinction in ABRSM Grade 5 Jazz Piano and was the youngest candidate to do so at the time.

  4. Age 7

    ABRSM Piano Grade 8

    ABRSM Distinction

    At seven, I earned a distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 Piano and was the youngest candidate to do so at the time.

  5. Age 8

    DipABRSM in Performance

    ABRSM

    At eight, I followed those early exam milestones with a DipABRSM in Performance.
